Make-and-take printmaking activity. Drop-in, no booking required.
£3.50 per print. Choose from a selection of pre-cut linocut blocks, pick your colour and roll ink on to the block to make your own print to take away on the day.

TANYA VANESSA FOSTER
Tanya Vanessa Foster is a fine art painter, living and working in the UK. She was born in Nottingham in 1972 to an artist mother and musician father. Tanya studied Art at Lincoln, Loughborough and The Slade School of Art, London. Her work ranges widely from the figurative to the abstract, from coastal and urban to narrative, the common thread being the desire to distil an intimate sense of time and place through the heightened use of movement, colour and focus.

I create original linocut prints and hand printed textiles. My inspiration comes from my local environment and the places I visit both familiar and new. I enjoy exploring patterns and shape in nature, landscape and architecture and interpret them using different linocuts to layer colours and finish with a bold graphic outline.

‘Life Figure Drawing’
Opening Statement
A few years ago, a small number of us got together to re-try our efforts at life figure drawing. Initially this was once a month in Kate’s lounge, with Julie Moosburg as our life model. The group expanded in number and we moved to larger community premises, with Rob also joining as a male life model. The group now consists of 8-15 in number; ranging in skills, experience and styles of expression in a variety of media. We still meet on a monthly basis.

Life drawing is the practice of drawing the human figure, nude, from direct observation of a live model. It trains artistic abilities like: observation, proportion, shading etc. and hopefully captures movement and character. The drawings on display are created from life models in various stances.
‘Have a Go’ Sessions

MICHAEL WARREN
Michael Warren is a professional artist, specialising in paintings of birds in their
natural habitats. He has lived in Winthorpe, Notts with his wife Kate since 1975.
His work has enabled him travel widely, drawing and studying birds. These
journeys have taken him to many European countries, all 50 North American
states, Micronesia, Peru, Ecuador Africa and Australia.
Michael has had seven books published. ‘Shorelines’, ‘Field Sketches’,
‘Langford Lowfields’, ‘Lac du Bourget’, ‘Images from Birding’, ‘American Birding
Sketchbook’ and ‘Taking Flight’.
He has designed postage stamps for the British Post Office and the Republic of
the Marshall Islands, and many conservation stamps.

STEVE COLE
Stephen James Cole is an independent artist based in Lincoln, with a background in Design and Communication Arts. After graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University in the 1990s, he embarked on a long and fulfilling career teaching art and photography to secondary school students.
Inspired by his wife—who left teaching after the pandemic to pursue her own fine art practice—Stephen began developing his own artistic voice, exploring painting, mixed media, and photography. His creative foundation is deeply rooted in his early experiences working in the shipyards at Immingham Dock, a formative influence that continues to shape his work today.
In recent years, Stephen’s fascination with boats has evolved into a love for the Galician coastline in northern Spain, where he and his family spend their summers in the small fishing town of Bueu. There, he captures the region’s fishing vessels, yachts, and small boats using an infrared camera, transforming their textures, colours, and forms into vibrant abstract compositions. His paintings celebrate the character and energy of Galicia’s working boats set against the luminous greens of the Atlantic Sea.
