The Shed@Collingham, a welcoming and vibrant community initiative designed to bring together like minded people in a supportive and friendly environment. Here, men & women of all ages can engage in hands-on activities like woodworking, metalworking, and various other creative projects. Our mission is to combat social isolation and promote wellbeing by providing a space where members can share skills, build friendships, and stay active. Whether you’re looking to learn new skills, pursue hobbies, or simply enjoy the company of like-minded individuals, The Shed@Collingham offers a place to do all that and more. Join us and be a part of a community that values connection, creativity, and companionship.
What we offer
Our shed is fully equipped with the tools and materials needed for a wide range of projects. Whether you’re interested in crafting a birdhouse, restoring furniture, or working on community projects, there’s always something exciting to work on. You can choose to work on personal projects or collaborate with others. Members freely share their skills and knowledge creating a friendly learning environment. The shed also runs a range of courses in wood turning and pyrography for members and non members. We offer many opportunities to have a chat including during our frequent tea & coffee breaks. So whether you are a complete novice, highly skilled woodworker, expert tea drinker or just like to chat there’s a seat for you at the Shed.
Members
We have a flexible membership fee structure. £25 per year & £2 per visit
capped at £200 per year for unlimited visits.
Courses
Wood turning courses are available by booking. Normally 5 weekly sessions at a time to suit the group.
Funding
Running costs are funded by member’s contributions. Upgrade of equipment is funded through commissioned work and grants from community fund partners.
the Shed
Gusto group have generously provided us with our purpose built Shed, available for our sole use on a long term lease.
Our numbers do the talking
We have grown year on year. Examples of our output can be seen in numerous setting: benches private gardens, community herb planters in Newark Castle Station, daisies at a charitable fund raising held by the Newark Children Bereavement Centre.
